acceleration. The a4 1.8t has the chippable turbo that allows for easy modification and power, allowing it to be faster. However, the subaru is suprisingly torquey for a normally aspirated car. There are turbo additions for the impreza that will allow for a really fast car, but this is a big project. The handling will go to the Impreza in stock form, but the a4 has a vast array of aftermarket products to make it handle well. But then again, so does the subie!

I believe (emphasis on the "believe") that the Scoobies are around 2800, and aren't our cars in the 3,300 lb range? The RS's also have very short gearing like our cars, and a bottom end that's even more torquey than ours is - you can start the car from a stop in 3rd gear!
As far as handling, I'd say the Impreza is always going to be the better handler, given equivalent suspensions - that ~500lb advantage is just too difficult to overcome. Those cars are *FUN*!

I know the handling and cornering is really good, but how bout for max speed? because I was passed a impreza at 90miles in the highway (at that time i was driving a Honda Odyssey) but in the corner he passed me... (Man is a VAN) so i just wondering that car is it really good and fast??

I almost bought an 2.5RS. Great handling car. The engine is adequate but not real quick. I used to lurk on the Scooby boards and the consensus was that the RS was always great off the line but then faded off. Everyone would always post,"I took a off the line by 2-3 car lengths to about 30mph but then they started catching up." The RS is a great car to drive around in the city. Lots of low-end torque. The 1.8T is in the same boat too but in a nicer package. It's also easier to get more power out of 1.8T with a chip.
