Okay, please no messages telling me that I shouldn't try improving the performance of the 12valve engine. I just got my 96 A4 a few months ago and don't plan on getting rid of it anytime soon. That being said, I would like to increase the performance and have found two options that supposedly increase HP to around 245hp. Please give me your opinions of the following:

1. Rimmer Supercharger - Around $4500 and increase to about 235HP. This upgrade will not be available for 2-3 months.

2. Vortrag Big Valve Heads - Todd at Vortrag said that with the replacement of valve heads alone, could yield 240-250HP. When I asked my shop this, they were skeptical and didn't think that the stock Hitachi ECU could deliver enough fuel to actally generate that much HP. This upgrade is $3600.

Please let me know your opinions, or if anybody has already done the valve upgrade, let me know what you think.
