Default A4 2.8 QTS: 97 vs. 98?
I am buying a used A4, and I have the option to buy a fully loaded 97 or fully loaded 1998.5... The difference is about $5K in price and about 15K miles. I thought I would ask the forum to see if you have any input to sway me one way or the other. I guess my general question is, is it worth the extra money to buy the 98?

Default 98 has the 30V engine w/ 190BHP, and the 97 has the 12V with 172BHP.
That is the really only large difference.

If you ever want to put a supercharger in it, get the 98, not to mention resale, etc.

worth the money. 97 2.8 isn't tip, and it's a 172hp 12V engine. 98.5 is tip with the 30V engine

or point this out to the salesperson + try to get the 97 for a lower price

almost forgot - 97' - sports package doesn't actually include a sports suspension
