Default A4 2.8 Quattro Chip

I'm leasing the A4 2.8 Quattro 5 speed and I'm at the end of my first year on the lease. I'm very interested in hearing whether anyone out there is in the same type of situation and has added the chip for additional HP.

Default It's not worth it. The 1.8T chip boosts HP by boosting boost, you have no boost in a 2.8, so no HP

boost! Well maybe a little boost but not enough boost to justify boosting the cash from your wallet.

Default but there's new fuel management and time adjustment, may not be a whole lot on HP but plenty on

mileage and throttle response

Default Happy with .8 bar chip?

.8 bar vs 1 bar chips?? What are your thoughts?

Looking for a little more torque and HP but not at the expense of driveability and/or reliability...

Thanks.

Default Mine is GIAC chipped...

you don't get much of an increase but what it does give you makes the car a bit more fun to drive. Not a bad deal if you've got ~$300 to spend b/c the other option is a supercharger for a few thousand $'s.

Default I'm very happy with it, granted a 1.0 bar chip is faster...

But I feel a bit more secure with the .8 bar chip. This is my daily driver, and I plan on keeping it for awhile.

Default Follow-up

Any issues with the .8 bar? How many miles do you have on it?

Would you buy the 1 bar if you did it again?

Thanks..
