Hi Folks,
Can anyone confirm/deny if the speaker locations on the front doors are
identical on the 98.5 to the 99.5 A4s? I went to my local installer to
upgrade my stocks to Boston Rally RC51s and he said it didn't
look like it would fit. I settled for the 4" Referenz quarts and I don't
really like the sound. There's just no midbass present.
If the locations are identical (I'm hoping) then I'm going to get the MB
Quartz adapters and stick the Rallys in there.
Thanks for any info.
-Alex D.

I'm not sure which year you're asking about, but the Quart
adapters do work in the 99.5 (I'm in the middle of an install
right now).
-- John
PS: Anyone have any good locations for the crossover
box? The inner door skin has room but being outside the window it
isn't going to stay all that dry right?
I posted on this a few days ago on the second page of this forum... Basically, my installer and I wound up putting the x-over box under the rear seats - tons of room there. We put all four for my system here, with gobs of room to spare. For what it's worth, the x-over boxes were the three-ways that come with the Diamond Audio Hex series. If memory serves, they are bigger than
Just a suggestion
Bryanthe box for the MB's, so you shouldn't have a problem with space. Running wire to the back, on the other hand...
1.8tQM
