Default A4 alarm

If I leave my dog locked inside my 1996 A4 he sometimes manages to trigger the alarm. Any idea how this cal happen? Surely there isn't a motion detector inside the car?

Default Actually there is. Didn't know the 96A4 had an interior one as well...

It's not a true motion detector...it's a pressure sensitive sensor that triggers with something as simple as the wind blowing.

Check the lower side of the B-pillar for a button that you can press to deactivate the interior sensor.

Default You can turn the motion sensor off...

...there's a button on the pillar between front and rear doors (can't remember which side of the car). Press it before you lock up and the motion sensor is disabled.
