I am considering building a track car and I wanted to know what experience others have had with the B5 platform. I have heard that the B5 is much less rigid than the B6. Is this true? Can you really feel it? Are there ways to stiffen up the chassis?

The B5 is as rigid as anything.
Sure the B6 is a little more rigid, but why?
It weights an extra 500+lbs than the B5 chassi.
SO, take the B5 and with someone that knows, weld a roll cage. That shuld stiff it up and still be lighter than a B6.

I like my sedan a lot... I dont feel any noticeable flex. I've got a few extra braces like 2 lower subframe braces a DTS a shock tower brace up front... a home made brace in the rear, H-sport sway bars and bilstein/vogtland sport suspension.
I dont think flex is an issue for me... another 100bhp is about the only thing really on my mind right now.
