Dear All.

I am driving a 1999 A4 with the Bose Sound System. I really want to rip the Bose (blows) sound system out of the car and put in new equipment. If anyone could quickly tell me the dimensions of the speaker holes in the doors and on the back deck I would appreciate it.

From what I have gathered thus far, the back subs are 6.5 inches, and the rest is up in the air.

I am hoping to do this modification to my car with minimal cutting to the stock holes. Thanks in advance to everyone!

I think the bose sounds pretty decent.... Is the HU in bose setting? It makes a huge difference.

I have given it a lot of thought, and since I can get speakers for dealer cost, I would rather just go through and replace them with something better sounding.

the bose speakers are great but i listen to alot of classical music inspired heavy metal so i need to hear all the little bells and whistles. i cant listen to a system that has a massive sub woofer that shakes your *** out of the seat. i guess it depends what you listen too. the bose system is not meant to be blasted its meant to enjoy the clearest possible sound. although outside of my car i woulnt buy a bose anything WAYYYYY to exspensive.

so if I get a vag and put it in the normal setting it'll be better?

my car came with bose... but not on the bose setting. After changing it to the bose setting... It sounded a lot better than before.

I agree the Bose sounds OK, but the problem is this. I wanted to put an aftermarket head unit in the car (TV). Now that I have done that, the sound is not up to par, so I'm going to redo the rest of the system. I am just trying to do a lot of research on this before I buy the parts to find out that I am going to have a nightmare installing everything. So anyone who has the dimensions for the door kick panels and the back dash panels and can post it, I would apreachiate it. Thanks for the help gents!
