A4 buds. Next door neighbor got these DTC's when I checked with Vag. Also CEL was flashing.

What can you figure out from these codes. Thanks. I have an S4 so they are somewhat different. Also what years is the coilpack issue? He has a 99.5..

16684 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
35-00 - -
16686 - Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected
35-00 - -

coil pack failure or if they have one, ignition amplifier since it's cyl 2 misfiring

move the coil from #2 to a different cylinder....

clear the codes driver it and see if the misfire moves to the new cylinder

if it does, bad coilpack

Sup dude...

First thing that comes to mind are the coilpack/coilpack connectors. Try swapping the coilpacks around and see if the misfire follows. It could also be the plugs.

Second thing that comes to mind is to check the Ignition Amplifier. It's the little component that sits on top of the airbox with two connectors attached to it. He can try to swap that out with another one.

Hey man. Not much. Just helping the neighbor out. You thinking of going to the

NE Event this year? Still no stereo after 9 weeks and counting. If I go up I may not have a stereo for the trip or to even show. It sucks.

Damn, that's been a long time without tunes! Can you temporarily toss something else in the meantime since most of it is already hooked up?
