A4 bumper inserts to match RS4 grill
Anyone have a tech write up on this? Did a search and found some things. Looking for a bit more detail. Using 3/4-9 expanded steel, Gloss Black Rustoleum, Marine Epoxy and original inserts for mounting.
Thanks for any help.

expanded steel will rust. Try galvanized steel mesh. (1 pretty big pic)

They are really cheap and they turned out well.

I prefer flat black instead of gloss...IMO they didn't look right "shiny"
I also used the lower grill frames after dremeling out the slates.
I used a jigsaw to make my rough cuts and a dremel for the rest. I sanded the metal (dremel) and used an automotive primer before painting. Before adhering to the frames I removed the primer at the contact points (VERY IMPORTANT). I used an adhesive called JB Weld - 4 minute epoxy. It setup faster than a goop or construction adhesive and seems to hold pretty well. I was set in a few minutes but the cure time was about 4 hours. Once it cured (left it overnight) I sanded down any excess epoxy (dremel) and then painted all of it grills and frames, flat black (2-3 coats). I followed with 1-2 coats of matte, clear coat.
