This sounds like CV's, but you guys probably know more.
I want to purchase a 1999 A4 Quattro 1.8L Turbo for 2000 bucks with 120k on it that is absolutely pristine minus mechanical problem. Guy selling it stated he was having clunking from front end especially while turning. Now it just won't go like something is bound. You can feel tranny go into gear though and his tech stated cv's and tie-rods. Which that is not that much money. Two questions: 1. What do you guys think that might be? 2. Let's say it is a tranny, I saw some used ones go for about 1k or less, would it be worth it for that price to fix it?
Thanks in advance and NICE FORUMS!!

While a used tranny may cost 1K you also have to account for swapping it in, which is approaching 1K in most shops.
