Does anyone know how to activate / de-activate the CL function electronically ?
ie what signals are required, my aftermarket unit is broken and is no longer ( 1996 A4 2.6 SE )
obtainable , and I am toying with the idea of making a unit myself, the remote key fob / receiver/decoder parts are widely available but I need to understand what signals to reproduce.
Any help greatly appreciated

I went through the same problem, and have put the information on a web page. Please note that I did the work on my U.S. spec 1996 A4 2.8 with a 2 button remote, and I don't know how well it will pertain to your car. See if it helps, and feel free to e-mail me with questions.

The locking hardware has not been replaced , the central locking still works OK with the key , its just the remote ( seperate 2 button key fob ) which doesn't work.
My Audi dealer has offered to replace the whole system , at a cost of £590 UK stirling , I thought this was excessive and so I am looking for something " more reasonable ".
Many Thanks for the post
