Mine started rattling after just a couple of weeks. Instead of having the dealer replacing them to no avail, I decided to change the front speakers. I used Infinity Kappa 5.25 components and the MBQuart adapters (see thread below). Took me half a day, but the sound improved 100% (especially at high volume levels) and there are no more vibrations.
Just change the darn stock things and you'll be happy. BTW, the back speakers are decent enough.

Hey adc
I have a 99.5 2.8M with the concert headunit. I just added a 100w powered sub and the installer tapped into the rear speaker lines. I asked about upgrading the stock front speakers to Kappa's or BAs but he said they were amped like the back speakers and I would have to gut the whole system if I wanted to just upgrade the speakers. Is this the runaround?
