My insurance has chosen to contract out an independent estimator? My insurance is AAA and the body shop I took my car to isn't AAA certified. So, I was told by the AAA estimator that they will contract out an independent estimator to look at the car. Why is this? Thanks.

cus-i've been told that insurance companies tell their customers that they will pick an independent estimator for them - only because there is already business between the estimator and the insurance company.

kinda like - i bring you my customers and i get a little percent of this and that.

when in fact- you do have the right to pick your own and not have to go with whom ever they pick.

My insurance AAA has their own estimators..however, with this body shop they aren't certified by AAA (you know how some body shops are certified by different insurance agencies), so therefore AAA is going to use an independent estimator instead of the AAA estimator. I'm just curious if anyone has had experience dealing with insurance companies paying for major work that needs to be done on their cars.
