Default A4 stolen in Vancouver immobilizer useless!

Went down to our parkade at 8:30 am looked at a empty parking stall.Boy was I upset,my car is gone no trace nothing.Called the police and insurance company. That alarm system and immobilizer is totally useless. Now some idiot is driving my car around town. Hope it is totalled, shiped overseas or taken for parts and never be found, I would rather have a new one than getting it back all damaged and abused. I hope I hear nothing for the next 9days then the ins company will start doing the paperwork for a new A4.One of the reasons I bought an Audi is because they aren't that easy to steal. There was 4 hondas,2lexus ,1 bmw,2 vws.You would think they would steal one of the hondas easier to steal or how about something more exotic like the BMWx5.
I' hpoe Audi improves their antitheft devices, something like Cadillac's gps.
Thanks for listening

Default North America models do not have a immobilizer activated.

Even though our flip key has the immobilizer chip build into it the immobilizer is not activated on North America models , I presume it is the same for you in Canada . It is crazy that the immobilizer is not standard on our cars , it works brillantly and is inexpensive .

Sorry to hear about your car man , someother jackass with nothing better to do I guess, well I hope he gets his deserved justice . If anyone stole my baby then I'd go crazy , and indeed want a new one , as a replacement .
Hope it works out for you .

Default The car might have been towed/trucked away. If you had the immobilizer activated..

then it could NOT have been driven away unless the burglers tricked 'audi headquarters' into believing that it was their car and gave them the code.
(i.e.: lost keys)

Sorry man, I do know how it feels.

I live in the West point grey/Dunbar good part of town, but in vancouver it does'nt matter if it's a good or bad area the whole city is infested with a bunch of low lives.

Default Does this mean that our anti-theft system is basically just a car alarm w/ a lame sounding horn?

I thought I was getting something more when I bought this $30k car...

Why is it missing from N. America cars? There must be a good reason?
