Default Is an A4 tiptronic fun to drive?

Ok, I have been looking all over for a good A4 at a good price, and I am a firm believer that a stick shift is so much more fun to drive the an automatic. Well alot of the A4s I have been finding have auto w/ tiptronic? How does a tiptronic compared to driving a stick shift? obviously it would be conveinient to drive automatic once and a while, but does the acceleration when shifting with tipronic compare to driving a manuel? I hope I didn't repeat a topic again...

Default Coming from a manual, I doubt you'll find it...entertaining.

The car will still feel like an automatic, you still have the torque converter sapping power, and you'll probably grow wiery of lag between shifts.

If you want a manual, buy a manual, if you want an automatic, get the tiptronic.

Pretty good with a GIAC tip-chip, otherwise lousy.

Default My friend with an evo was impressed with it, 1st time he drove a car with V V T

he noticed the 1st thing I did, that surge from 5K up to 6, he's used to engines slowly dropping off there (that close to redline) but his vishnue(sp) stage 1 evo is absolutly AMAZING! I was finally allowed to drive it tonight, (I hated the drive home in my ride)

GrA4,
Have you driven both an manuel and a tiptronic w/ tipchip?, does the tip-chip get it real close to the performance of a manual?

Thanks,
~WaKe
