I noticed that he was quick to get defensive about being accused of any wrong doing.

I would think that if I was on the receiving end of that the first thing I would do is reply and say I got them legit through ABC, Inc. and paid $x.xx.

I'm not implying anything but ... how much would a complete S4 headlight setup cost? Would you spend that kind of money on a whim without knowing that they will fit/work?

I also question his motive for posting in the first place.

I'm just trying to build a unique car that takes its style from various other cars that I like. i'm not rebadging my car an S4, I don't want something that weights 4000+ when I can own a maxima that weights about 3000 even and runs 14.2 NA 1/4 times and beats S4s at autoX every weekend.

why don't you go over to the S4 thread and have a little read, then you'll realize how shallow you really are.

I purchased these from a member of audiworld (don't know his username, but i'm sure if you really want me to I can get him to verify that these were purchased). He put the european clear corners in his car and had no use for them anymore.

I admit this would all be rather funny if in fact I didn't happen to know who theblue is as well as his idea behind putting in the S4 lights. It happens to be a work in progress. As for the quarter mile time of 14.2, it's true. His maxima was at one point the fastest NA maxima.

Are you looking for validation from us that what you did is good or cool? You come into an Audi arena and then proclaim that your Nissan can beat up on the S4s. If I put a set of Nissan wheels on my car do you think I'd get respect if I go over to maxima.org and start proclaiming that I stomp on Maximas because of the beauty of Quattro? I don't think so. I'm not putting down Nissan or Maximas, it just that "we" (gross generalization) think that the A4 is a better car. Why is that? Each person has their own reasons, but the fact is the Audi is what we decided to buy and why we come to a site dedicated to people who love this same car.

I think if you hung around these fourms as long as some of us have you'll find the majority have very strict tastes on what looks good on the Audi platforms. Hell, you'll find many posts begging people to remove their rear wings because it just doesn't go with this car. Now as far as the S4 people go, who knows, maybe they were just being polite. Perhaps you should post again with your proclaimation of "I don't want something that weights 4000+ when I can own a maxima that weights about 3000 even and runs 14.2 NA 1/4 times and beats S4s at autoX every weekend." and see if their attitude changes. Quattro has proven to be unbeatable on the race track and deemed an "unfair advantage" by the sanctioning bodies.
