about 2 months ago I took my 2001 A4 1.8tqms in complaining about poor performance and the car surging. They replaced a vacuum line and the car drove like new again for about 2 weeks.
I looked under the hood and noticed they forgot to put a clamp on the vacuum line right at the front of the intake header. It was so loose I could easily pull the line off with a hooked finger.
I did not have the OEM type clamp, I used a spring clamp and it chewed up the line a bit. I cut off a little bit(the hose is really tight now) and secured it with a zip tie. During that I noticed that the hose runs back to a little connector underneath the intake header, towards the back. I always thought it was a direct run to the BPV...
Anyway, any tips on what might be causing the slight surging? It is really noticeable when going down a hill with the cruise on.
