My ABS is not working. ABS and brake light is on. When I go to brake all 4 tires lock up. Am I correct in assuming that since all for wheels don't have ABS that I would have to have either a bad module or 4 bad ABS sensors, which is very unlikely?

Normally when the ABS fault code is on, ABS will not function period, until the problem is fixed. What is common is the ABS module itself going bad, but it can be repaired rather than buying a full part. I've had mine fixed a while back and have had no issues since. I believe the place was module masters. Search for them as they have symptoms to look for to help diagnose. Also, as the other post replies, you can scan for codes if you have VAG Com as well to help pin point the problem.

I was going to buy a cable for my laptop to scan for the fault code, but my son broke some keys on my laptop, so I never got the cable.

Maybe I can take it out and look at it. What was wrong with your module? Or maybe, what is typically wrong with them, is a better question?
