Default ABS - Now what?

Xpost from brakes:

In my quest to get my ABS functioning again so this darn car can be sold my VAG tells me this:

Address 01: Engine
Part No: 3B0 907 551 G
Component: 2.8L V6/5V G 0003
Coding: 07251
Shop #: WSC 063251
Fault Found:18014 - Rough Road/Engine Torque Signal from ABS: Electrical

Malfunction P1606 - 35-00 - -Readiness: 0010 1001

When I try to connect to the 03 controller (ABS) I am told that VAG can not connect to the module.

This seems to mean one of two things

1) Dead ECU
2) Bad wires

Anyone have any ideas on troubleshooting this? Fuse 7 looks intact.

Thanks!

Default It does not mean a dead ECU because that would mean your car wouldn't start

It means you give Module Master's $200 to fix the ABS computer.

Sorry, yes meant ABS computer, not the whole car ECU.

I'll take $200 but I'll check my wires for wear and tear first

Thanks!

Check if you want, but it's the control unit. STFA.

Yes I did but no one mentions the symptom of the ABS unit being dead to VAG, thats why I wanted to check. I was unclear on if this problem manifests as a VAGable ABS with codes or if the ABS just disappears from the car.

I dropped Gavin an email at ModuleMasters.

Thanks everyone!
