Default ABS quick fix......is it gunna cook?......

Quick fix for an abs problem (im kinda broke right now), 98 a4q 30v.

Can i connect both my rear abs sensor inputs to a single sensor?

Im just worried about the test the abs computer does on startup, whether that test voltage will cook the inputs on the computer that i will have paralleled.

Reason: damaged RR sensor due to excessive wheel bearing wear, the reluctor ring dug a groove into the end of the sensor, now i feel an abs pulsation at low speeds, no abs light.

I will replace the sensor before winter, but i have a few social engagements over the next week and i feel like im on welfare every time i hit the brake pedal, and just to rub it in, i get the "broken car" look from my passengers.

Any info on paralleling sensor inputs on the ABS computer would be greatly appreciated

Thank you,
Tony

Default are the only consequences in the handling?

I do realize that doing this with the rear abs will make the rear end unstable during a heavy breaking condition where the abs would engage, but is this the only reason you say not to parallel the sensor inputs?, or are there electrical consequences aswell?

also, i realize this may be something the average broke audi owner should not do, just wondering if you would be able to elaborate.

I tried to send a message to you (4driver4) but your in box is full

If this is considered an unsafe quick fix, i can remove the searchable keywords in my posts, or we can message each other

thanks for your time,

tony

No, just don't do it. It's better to have NO abs than a jury rigged ABS.

LOL! You'll get that around here. Thing is, many of us have the experience to back up our warnings.. =)

Default Kind of what you'd expect after asking "Would it be a good idea for me to run with sc

Unplug it. Jury-rigging it will make the car less safe than it would be with no ABS.
