Is it absolutely neccesary to replace all the bose speakers if I want to put in a new 4ohmHeadunit??

No, the bose speakers are driven from an amp which is fed the line level outs of the Bose head unit.

The audio install places i went to said they have to replace all the speakers in order to usemy unit

That opinion is based on other Bose car systems, where the amp is integrated with the speaker unit.

Does that mean there is a special wireing harness i need? if so, where can i get it?

So you think automatically when I said "Bose" the guy was thinking about the other "Bose" system?

Default Nah, I think when you said the bose the guy automatically thought "sh*t"
and immediately said it all has to go, reguardless of having a clue of what may be in the car.
