And also, does anybody know what it means to "rock the car in first or second to align timing marks on cams"? Sorry for all the posts about the cct, I am just a bit nervous messing around with the cams.

Default I used the permatex stuff or w/e it is from autozone. as for checking timing

Rotate the cam by hand 2-3 times to make sure it all lines up.

Default How do I go about doing this? All the info I have on the cct is in this writeup.

Will the cams rotate freely without interference from the pistons?<ul><li><a href="http://www.ca-va.org/tech/camtensioner/index3.html">CCT writeup</a></li></ul>

Default Not absolute necessary.

I believe I used red RTV, where needed. With the car in gear, when you gently rock (push) it fowards/backwards, the cams will rotate by just a hair each time.

And no they won't slap the pistons, so long as they're still aligned properly!

Default Thanks a lot man... Exactly what i was wondering.

The marks on the exhaust cam side arent supposed to match up exactly with the chain, correct?

Also, how do you like your vogtland c/o's? I am debating picking up a set... Have you used them on the track yet?

I'm not sure I follow....why wouldn't the marks on the exhaust cam line up exactly?

I actually have Vogtland springs + Koni shocks -- no coilovers. Good luck!
