absolutely necessary to replace or resurface flywheel when replacing the clutch?

Default Mine was just resurfaced.....flywheel was still good after 100K.

I think it all depends on the condition.

Dual Mass=PITA to resurface just get a new one.

according to the Audi dealer that replaced my clutch under warranty, no. that was 44k ago.

Default I've done many a clutch without...

but if it was slipping yes, you will see the burn marks and glazing when you pull the clutch.
