AC making a whistling noise

AC making a whistling noise
When I shut off the AC now, it makes a whistling noise coming from somewhere in front of the glove compartment, does anyone had that happen before?
And when it is really hot, like 90+, it makes a even louder noise when I turn the AC off, more like a groan.
In addition, there seems to be very light smoke coming out of the vent, but I can't smell anything, and I am thinking it might just be water vapor since it is so humid here.
I am hoping that this is normal, or it just needs to be recharged. Hopefully, it is not a bad compressor or something more serious and $$$$$$.
