Hello,
Hoping someone can shed some light on adding a 4-channel amp to the factory concert stereo in my A4. I purchased the blaupunkt adapter and made the proper modifications to hook to the factory terminal plug. However, the front RCA inputs work fine but when I hook channel 3&4 RCA's the stereo cuts out if turned up. Does anyone have a clue is this is an amp issue or stereo or combinations.
Thanks in advance!
James

out of your stock stereo into the 4 channels? If so, the load may be to great for the stereo to handle. Do you have two high/low converters or just one?

Blaupunkt makes a adapter to use the level outs from the stereo. These do not tie into the speakers wires. Their if a front and rear line out that is regular wiring. This blaupunkt adapter is RCA's on one end and straight wires on the other. So I ran the front and rear RCA's but as soon as I plug the 3&4 in the radio cuts in and out.

If the rear RCA's coming out of the head unit work fine when inserted into the Front RCA jacks on the amplifier then the problem would be at the amplifier end. It sounds like the amp isn't getting enough power, therefore it is "clipping" or turning off when you hook up the rear RCA's because it is going to draw more current with 4 channels pulling rather than only 2 channels. What size power wire are you using? What is the power draw on your amplifier? You may need to go up to a thicker power wire if the power draw is to high for what you're running. I run a Rockford Fosgate Punch 400.4, it has a 40 amp draw and I run 8 gauge wire for the power and the ground.
just my 2cents, no refunds.... =P

does the rear channels work by themselves? that will tell you if the radio doesn't like the 4 channel operation. If the rear channels work even without the fronts hooked up then it's a power problem if it still clips out then something
isn't right between the radio and the converter.
