What does it take to add heated seats to a 2002 B6 A4 that does not have them? I suppose you would have to start with a different set of seats with heaters in them...

Need the following:
wiring harness is different, so you have to make one with the appropriate connectors
relays to control the seats
ac unit that has the openings for the rheohstats (temp switches)
seats with heating elements
That would be the OEM install...
otherwise you may just want to consider adding seat elements to the seats you have. There are several companies out there that sell kits.
just do a search for "aftermarket seat heaters" www.katzkin.com lists them.

I thought it might be involved. I'm sure the B6 is about the same. Do you think it will be worth your time and energy?

I got sport seats that are heated. I have standard seats now, so it is a 2 for one deal for me.
aftermarket heaters in the same seats is a lot less trouble than what I am doing... but i need to tinker so I am trying the oem approach
