Default Adjusting wastegate actuator on GT28RS

Before I remove the clip and the rod, how hard is it going to be to reattach the rod to the turbo housing?

I'm guessing it's going to be under some pretty strong spring tension, right? Is it possible to pressurize the actuator somehow to make it easier?

It needs to be about three turns tighter to return it back to where it was before I started messing with it. To adjust it the first time the bumper came off etc, and then the front housing/bracket was rotated. Unfortunately, those threads are now nearly stripped so that option isn't available. In fact, I see the bracket is a bit loose in this picture. It's been bent a long time.

You can probably use a pressure tester... mity-vac type deal to pressureize it.

Default Dumb question, pressure or vacuum?

Just remove that line going into the actuator, right, and use vacuum or pressure?

Apply pressure and it will elongate to open the wastegate.

What PSI did you pump it up to?

Default Unfortunately, the only pump I've got doesn't have a gauge on it.

But it was pumped up "a lot". What pressure will it need to move the rod? Figured it would only need 10-20 lbs.

Should open up at like 10psi but that depends on what the actuator is rated for.

Default I have used compressed air on mine to help get the end of the rod back on the connector on the...

exhaust housing. I don't think I would have been able to get it on without it. It was very hard to get in there with my T28 setup just from reaching down from the top. The little clip that holds it on is missing so it will probably pop off again soon.
