Default After 114,000 miles it was time to change my valve cover gasket...

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/36861/cimg1604.jpg"></center><p>well it didnt take very long to do about 1 1/2 hours total. also I have a few extra gaskets that go around the spark plug area 2 more to be exact so if anyone wants one let me know. here are some pics of the insides of the motor. some feedback on how it looks would be great.....

I'm almost afraid to change mine at 124K. I don't wanna see what it looks like in there.

Default I've seen cleaner and dirtier. Yours looks fine. Near black charred spots could cause some worry.

But I don't see anything like that. Give everything a real good inspection, if all is well, button her back up.

Default Looks fine...

in the first pic the lighting is bad, so it's hard to tell. In the second pic, everything looks clean.

I would run a can of BG motor oil additive in there just to clean it up....but it looks ok.

well I just ran a can of sea foam and I am about to do an engine flush and oil change..

Did you use any RTV to seal the gasket? If so what type?

yes I did...RTV ultra blue sensor-safe rtv silicone gasket maker..thats what is printed on the tube
