Default After installing boost gauge, noticed I am recieving 5 psi or so of boost at around 2k rpm

Is the boost threshold supposed to be this low?

also at 5K rpm I show maybe 5-6 psi of boost as well, but exceleration is much better..

Is this a difference between pressure of boost,(psi) and volume of boost (cf/m of air) at the same pressure?

at WOT under booth conditions...

Default Re: No, it's not supposed to be that low. Mine shows 21 psi at peak.

Usually around 2200 - 4500 then drops off slowly as the revs climb. I guess because the turbo is at full spin and the engine has finally caught up with it.

Re: Maybe a leak at where you hooked up your vacuum line or a pinched line. What gauge is it?

Default AWE 00-01 vent pod boost gauge hooked to the vacuum line closest to the ECU.

I don't think there is a leak....

Default I have the AWE Pillar mount. Pull her apart and look for a crimp somewhere

Probably in the little white hose they give you. Take a look in my poster, I have a shot of my splice for the vacuum line. Did you use the same one?

Default I used the same one...

I am sure there is no crimps... I had the instrument cluster out while I was feeding the line through the ECU. The only possible area I could see there being a problem is it being crimped in the ECU area...

Default Re: They give you a 3 foot section of the cloth covered stuff right?

I inserted about 3-4 inches of the white tube into that just to be sure I had a good seal. Mine is pretty sensitive too. If I blip the throttle I can get that thing to move to "0" pretty easy from the -20 it idles at. My best guess is a crimp or that line isn't in all the way. Did you use teflon tape on the threaded connector into the gauge?

Default I didn't use any teflon tape at all...

and I recieved no 3 foot section of cloth. I got a gauge pod monted in the vent, some wiring to hook it up so it lights up with the ignition. There were also a few zip ties, and a long grey rubbery tube for the signal line,a mechanical buzz eliminator, and a T fitting to tap the stock vaccum hose. That was it, and some directions. It could be crimping where it comes in through the vent maybe. I'll look at when i get back home...

Maybe it is just a bit more sensative than I thought..

Is there anyway there could be a BPV problem and my boost is not recirculating correctly through the system during operation?

Thanks for the advice thus far

and could you track the thread, if you haven't already (I suspect you have though)

Default Not a problem, anything I can do to help. I don't think you have a BPV problem

The car would run like crap if you did. Serious turbo lag would be happening since the vanes would get stalled out. A little teflon tape and finding the crimp should set you right with the world my brother. Maybe the cloth line got squished by your ECU?
