Default If you are trying to use it to get air to the intake, yes...

but if you are using it to simply bring air into the engine bay than I think it should be rather effctive.

I figured the scoop would prevent most water from entering unless shot directly at it with a hose.

Default It's fun.I used 1/8" thick ABS,that's about as thin as you'd want to get.If you want thicker without

the air spaces(talking about heat shield not the duct) just move up in thickness.Get a can of MEK and a small paint brush. You make a cardboard mock-up and transfer it to the ABS by tracing around the template with a sharp scribe. Cut it with a jigsaw using fine tooth blade on a low speed setting. You wet the joints you want to join with the MEK and hold/clamp them together. MEK is a solvent, not a glue. It joins the ABS together by melting it. You can sand the finish product and bring back the black shine by painting it with the MEK or you can paint it like you would plastic.
If you need any other help, just ask. I'm sorry but I'd rather put my nuts in a vise instead of selling anything else to this bunch.I still have not broke even on the emblems. ;-)
