i posted this elsewhere with little luck. you guys are obviously the superiors of audi forums, so i am not here.

does anyone with the premium sound package, that runs aftermarket HU's run their door speakers through their preouts and into the bose factory amp? instead of using the amp in the HU, that is.

if so, can you elaborate on how it sounds? what about the new voltage to the bose amp? why did you do this instead of use the HU amp?


i'm going to do it since 1) bose amp is matched for door speakers anyways 2) will not have to run wires to all speakers from the head unit

what is the wiring like? i have an alpine unit and wiring harness on the way.

sorry, i have been trolling for a while, but am just posting for my first time.

i have found plenty of posts after searching for them, but all of them seem slightly different than my request.
for example, on how i am going to use get rca plugs on the wires that go to the amp, to plug into my rca preouts?

no one has ever hooked up an aftermarket HU to a bose amp, interesting....
am i doing something wrong here? did i ask wrongly?
