Default Aftermarket Headunit Question

Well Everyone,

I've started looking for an aftermarket headunit on my 99.5 Audi A4. It's just the single Din concert radio, NON-bose, so I believe I can just replace the headunit right now correct? Since they aren't bose and the speakers don't have their own amplifiers. So I can just buy another headunit switch it with stock, and hopefully it'll still work with the stock speakers. Anyways here's my question: Do any of you know any good CD/MP3 combo players? Any that would match the red interior lighting of the A4 fairly well? Any brands better than other, or any that you guys consider the best brand for aftermarket Headunits? Sony? Aiwa? Kenwood? Etc...If you have any pics please post them as well, so I can get a kind of feel for how it will appear. Thanks everyone in advance for all your time and help...Thanks!

Asif

Default Rockford Fosgate makes one w/ red lighting and it plays MP3's

Even the non-bose system has an amp. it should be on the bottom of the driver's side rear speaker. (mine was)

The rear speakers only have pre-amp outputs coming to them from the stock deck.

I bypassed all of that and ran my own speaker wire to the rears...

Good luck.

Default I have this in mine....

I like it have not had a problem with it. At night it matches pretty well except for the simple fact that the radio face is silver.

Default RedAudifor

So does the red lights of the headunit match up pretty good with the audi red? Its kind of hard to tell in the pics...as well as with your mp3 does it say the name and track and all the information about the song? Were you able to just switch the headunit and use the stock OEM speakers that came with the car? Thanks.

Default I have a CDA 7894 which i love, but only green/amber illumination.

I have 99.5 non-bose and the Alpine powered the stock speakers beautifully, i was shocked at how well they sounded...the Alpine puts enough power to really make them shine. Even the installer was impressed with how the stockers sounded.

Then again, the non-bose speakers are also made by bose.

Cheers,
Sameer

Default doesn't bother me... considering....

I keep my eyes on the road and not on the radio.
