i have 45k on my A4 and thinking about buying a 4yr/48k warranty for $3k. I guess it comes down to the reliability risk in the next 4 yrs...any thoughts/comments from other owners if this is worth it?

people always ask about warranty. Warranty pays for itself especially when you reach the higher milages. I defenitely think it would be worth it.I may look into it after my warranty is up at 100K

I purchased my A4 at 44k miles and was able to get an extended warranty good through 5 years/100k miles through the dealer (independent, non-Audi). It was $1200, and when I had a cracked water pump at 58k they paid all the repairs, also paid for replacement of worn belts and pulleys at the same time even though they weren't "broken" yet.. easily paid for itself. And my car is even chipped.
The company is National Warranty Insurance Company if you're interested.
