Default Ah crap! Bridgestone discontinued the Potenza G 009 tires, now they are G 019

Here's my problem: When I swapped out those tires for my winters, I took a small chunk out of the tire's sidewall on the lift. Big deal I thought, I'll worry about it in the spring.

Well, now I've learned the tires are no longer being made and they've changed the tread design. Could I replace just that one, or should do a pair?

Here are photos to compare:

Default I just realized that in the size I need (195/65-15), they're like $72 each...

So... nah. I'll just get new ones in the spring.

Default a comment....

Those G 019's are on the top of the replacement list for the families 30v. The darn G 009's on the car now don't seem to wear out though. They are a tade noisy which I read has been addressed on the G 019's.
Regards

Default Bridgestone makes the Fusion in that size and its about $20 less

The dry performance is close and it has better wet performance. Just a thought for saving a few $$$ with the kid coming . I know of a Ferrari owner putting Fusions on his old 308 in Youngstown OH and got caught in wet snow a few falls ago . He said he had no problems and would have on the OE performance tires. I know they rate on Tire Rack just a little lower in several areas, but I think you could buy 4 shipped for about $250.
