now i have been told they are a waste of money if i dont go on the track, which i dont. should i just get springs and shocks (these are not ajustable are they)? Is there a performance difference? how much $ will be saved?

Default I disagree

I went from stock non-sport, to H&R sport springs and Neuspeed/Bilstein sport shocks, and now have switched to H&R Coilovers. The Coilovers just have a better feel. They are actually "smoother" during daily driving, but handle much better at high speeds and corner like a dream.

Default I agree :-)

With your "disagree-al". Smoother ride and better performance which I entirely enjoy on the street!!! The difference in price is about $600, so it's pretty significant.
