And head down teh big turbo route here...... *nervously twitching* ......
GT28 eliminator turbo with (for now) PC-16 software. The trouble I am faced with is this: My clutch is almost new, for obvious reasons I don't wantto replace it. Think it will hold up if I refrain from rocket launcher starts? I know, STFA.... I've been around long enough to read all the clutch posts, but I would love some recent experience with it.
I flip-flop back and forth from GT28 to K04. Even if the K04 craps out in 1-2 years, I can buy another for the cost of one GT.
Just how *much* better is a K04 than a K03? Would you say it's the same change going from stock w/K03 to chipped w/K03 when you go from chipped /K03 up to PC-16 chipped w/k04? I know the grin factor was huge and still makes me happy just being chipped... if the K04 does it that much all over again I'd be pretty satisfied (well, for a year or 2 anyway!) If it does even more... well I'd be happy as if I had nice ***** in my face 24/7.

a lot bigger than the difference between stock and chipped. That being said, I still want more. If you can swing it, I would go as big as possible. Also, I don't know if you have an fmic or improved cooling but that would help a lot even in cooler temps.

Your wallet will hate you
KO4 power is around 2500-5500
28R power is around 2800-6000
28RS power is around 3200-6500
You need to decide where you want the power

A GT2X eliminator seems on the surface a great in between and a perfect match to the PC-16 software that I have on the shelf.
The obvious trouble with that is there have been several people that have blown them in short order on this board and a few others. With that said, I think it may be that people are letting them warm up and cool down properly? My HX-turbo on the Dodge truck is ONLY oil cooled/lubed and has over 134K on it much of it's life pushing 40-45 psi. It is rock solid with shaft play or blow-by at all. Granted the housing is huge, but I also used a pyro gauge always let it cool all the way down before shutting it off.
And for the non-believers, you know who you are ;-P : Yes I have been talking about this for ever, yes I flip flop, yes I am like a little girl trying to decide which little dolly I want for Christmas, yes I am a pain in the @ss and ask way too many questions... BUT I am doing it this time. Money in hand, PC-16 chip in hand. Decide what turbo to go with and see if the injectors I have will work with it and deal with the FMIC in the late winter/early spring. Till then I have my studded snows on anyway so no hard driving to speak of for now. Also I plan to put an S4 bumper on after the sand/salt/snow is off the roads in the spring so the FMIC will fit easier.
Thanks all.
