ahh, killer (rust)
i was out washing my wheels, and notice my whole brake rotor (don't know what to call it-- the circle thing with the brake calipers on it)...
Anyways it is all rusted is there anyway to fix it?
thanks
don't know if you can see them, but here is a picture.

Rust forms because your rotors (exposed metal) react with water...
When you are driving and apply the brakes your pads will create friction with the rotors, consequently "rubbing off" the rust that has formed on the surface.

are you absolutely kidding me?!?! Have you never looked at your car after rain/wash
before?
You and the guy who was worried about brownish liquid on his dipstick should get together and have a common sense party.
Sorry, I needed to vent at the sheer ridiculousness of this thread. Yes, rust on the rotors is normal...it will go away after you brake for 3 seconds.
