Default Air Bag light question

my air bag light came on last night and is now staying on. my question is could this have been caused by starting the car with the door open? last night i was talking to someone as i started my car up so i left the door open, then the air bag light never shut off, and it still on... could this be the reason?

Default not likely, but it could very well be the plug under your seat...

Vag it to get what caused the light to come on...Let us know what it said.

Default no access to VAG right now... if i check the plug and make sure it's good would that reset light

or does it need to be reset with a VAG tool?

Default i doubt that was the cause. be careful if your scanning the airbag system with vagcom

i wouldnt reccomend it as it can have adverse effects on the airbag system.

Default I have same problem with, cept.....

The light stays one for about 5 minutes - then goes out.
It happened just after friend sitting in the passenger seat put the seat back really fast. I rang the dealership and they told me not to worry about it as long as the light went out........think they were just trying to shrug me off. Never did it b4.

Will have to check under the seat though.

it can only be reset with the VAG. It won't recet on it's own

Default that is likely the plug under your seat. I used some duct tape and secured the plug so that...

it wouldn't wobble inside the plug. That has fixed my problem for quite some time now...knock on wood! That should help you out.
