TAP claims that the DTM filter produces an additional 8hp, is there a significant difference from other filters such as K&N and RAMAIR? what gains are produced by those?

I have had both K&N and RamAir. There is no differance. I think all drop in filters are about
the same. People do say that some clean up a little better than others, but I've never had one that long.

Typical claims ar 5-10 hp. Realistically, you probably won't notice it. I replaced the airbox on my VR6 Jetta with a cone style K&N filter (claimed about 15 hp), and there was some improvement, but pretty negligible. The most significant improvement was in throttle response. But that was with a cone filter replacing an airbox. Just doing a drop in filter, don't expect to notice anything.
