air intake .......20hp, are the people who have my car telling me a phibb? ($500- go or no go?)

My suggestion, is hold off on the air intake, save the 500 dollars. Put that money to more useful mods and then when a new intake would be more beneficial, then you look into it... but still don't spend 500 dollars without a lot of research on it.... good luck goofball

Are you having work done on your car, and they're telling you they can put in this thing and get you 20HP? If so, I'd try to leave skid marks on the way out.
That's probably the most outrageous HP claim for an air intake I've ever heard - not to mention it being the most expensive. Let me guess, that includes installation? It's be interesting to find out what it would cost if you bought it from the distributor.
If you have a 1.8T, spend the $500 on a chip. If it's a 2.8, just ask here and I'm sure some 2.8 owners could suggest better ways to spend $500.
