Air Intakes

you may get "some" gain (2-3hp? wild guess), not many people here have experience with the non-turbo 1.8s.
Fact is the audi intakes and paper filters are pretty well designed and are not usually a restriction point.
You also are not going to be able to introduce forced induction simply by putting a cone in. You need a scoop, naca duct, or similar feature to gather the air push it through a filtering element and introduce it...without losing the forced air benefits along the way by adding lots of piping.
piping = laminar flow which = maximum drag resistance
So if you apply .3psi to a new forced induction, yet have piping turns and length that removed .2psi You really aren't buying yourself anything.
See what I was saying about turbulence and laminar flow?
