my airbag light's been on for about a year, brought it back to dealer but they can't find sh*t, tells me to replace the whole airbag which i didn't think would be worth it. well, i'm just wondering if anybody know how to disable the damn airbag light (like taking out a fuse or something), i mean i just wanna get rid of this annyong airbag light on my dash. any idea?

My friend had the same problem in his 97 2.8 he is pretty sure its due to his stereo, or the installation of it. He had the dealer completely disable the airbag for him.

well well, i don't wanna disenable my airbag completely 'cuz the thing is audi doesn't know whether the airbag itself is actually at fault or just another electrical prob..i heard there's a good chance that airbag is fine and probably will be functioning as it's supposed to, it's just annoying 'light'.

i'm guessing it's the plug under whichever seat is tripping the light...
The connectors suck and any movement causes a change in resistance and trips the light. I actually fixed the same problem by duck taping the plug to eliminate the wobble and the problem.
Another option is to put in a 5 ohm resistor in the side of the plug returning to the airbag control module.
The tape is a good start...give it a shot.
