Default VAG-COM will tell you the seat that is more than likely the problem...

then like phoneyman says wiggle it tight. But clear the fault.

Default a comment....

Funny you should mention it. Ours went off today, as the complaint got rattled off in my ear tonight that the "Airbag" light was on. So off, I headed to the garage with the VAG-Com and what comes up but code 01218(pass. side igniter resistance too high). Noticing some individual of smaller proportions put the passenger seat all the way up , at the highest possible postion, I returned it to a more standard stature. Checked the connections under the passenger seat and cleared the code. The code did not return(whew!!). Hope this helps.

Default vag.com states some chassis/years wont be able to communicate or could damage the harness

I just didnt read it, wiggled the connection and it cleared itself i guess..

No Picture needed. Well if you really need one after this explanation then you should just take it to a shop. Look underneath the seat in the front. Basically, put your head in the floorboard and look underneath it at towards the upper part of what you can see. There will be three connectors. If you cannot find it then take it to a shop.

BTW you will need a Vag-Com or other sophisticated tool to clear the code. The whole reason I bought a Vag-Com was for this purpose only. I know it seems like a lot but considering the fact that the stealership will charge you at least the cost to fix this it is worth it.

I only had to clear the code in order fix my airbag light as it was probably because I had overextended the connection by moving the seat. My light was on for two yes two years and after buying to cable, installing the software and clearing the code it has been off for a long time.

by the cable and clear the code. see what happens. if it comes back on buy some electrical parts cleaner and clean the connections, clear the code and test again. after that make sure you visit the vag com section and post the codes. its easy.

kinneytravis@yahoo.com if you have more questions. good luck bro.

listen to this guy. He really knows what he is talking about. Trust me I have read a lot of his posts and gotten some very good info. BTW 77"911 where did you get that front bumper?

I have seen the Reiger that looks like yours but with the vents on the side. I hate the vents but love the bumper. Do tell, where is it from?
