Is the alarm supposed to go off when somone pulls the door handle?

Default Is the alarm supposed to go off when somone pulls the door handle?
I noticed that when my alarm is armed and I pull a door handle, nothing happens. I would have thought this would set off the alarm. What kinds of sensors are present? Shouldn't it go off in this case?

i know mine doesnt either on my 99.. on viper alarm on other car i had, it did though . i would think this would prevent ppl from trying to brake in.i wonder if theres a way to change it

it's not supposed to trip the alarm.

if they pull the inside handle it would, i.e. door lock window down and open from inside

codes DO get stored in the dentral locking area.

I extracted a few when I looked with my vagtool

that could be your passanger jumping the gun and pulling the handle before you open the door

yup...I disabled the 12mph safety lock last night because of that.
