Alignment & "Aluminum strut mounting bracket"
I need to have the alignment checked on my 1998 A4 Avant. It has the sport suspension 1BE. The Bentley has different specs for the 1BE depending on whether it has the "Aluminum strut mounting bracket" or not. What am I looking for? I'm new to A4's but not to Audi's. I just want to make sure that we start with ther correct set up.

Funny Bentley would say that..
Since the A4 doesn't have struts.
I presume what they're referring to is the top triangle shaped plate that the upper control arms attach to.
97 and early 98 models had a top plate which was stamped steel. It changed to the cast aluminum piece sometime in 98. If it's silver it's aluminum, if it's black it's steel.
