Default My car, now that I have had it and maintained it for 2.5 years has few problems

it had a few things that needed sorting when I bought it, but proper maintenance will do WONDERS for a car.

Default '95 Porsche 993: in 83+K miles has been the most reliable car I've ever owned...

and this is going back to my first car back in 1970.

Gotta admit tho - old '90 Coupe Quattro was more reliable than the A4.

Default It sounds like you got a really bad example...

I have owned LOTS of Audis, and VWs, never had to replace a heater core, clutch (well, my Corrado got a clutch, due to the OE one self destructing after a hard winter), transmission, or engine. My Corrado had it's original heater core, the sunroof AND spoiler worked when I sold it with 130k on the clock. (for those who know Corrados, that's a minor miricle)

You can't beat the hell out of them like you can Hondas and expect them to survive, however, take care of them, and they will return the favor.
