Default alright. WTF. i'm starting to get pissed off with my keys....

so my old key's battery died last week. no problem. i have another. i've been using it for the past week. i go to the store today to buy new batteries. put them in the old key, it still doesnt work. i take apart my new key to make sure i put the batteries in correctly and all, then put it back together. now neither key f**king works!!!! WTF is so hard about putting a GD battery in a key?! how stupid can i be that neither key is working now!? pointers?

Default Resync the key?

Theres some details somewhere...

Damn audi keys have no range. I put fresh batteries and they still only work within 10 ft.

The remote needs to reprogrammed, you will need both to do it, one for the ignition, one for the door. Check your owners manual, the instructions may be there.

Default Yeah same thing happend to me, I tried the dumb tech artical but it didn't work. Who knows how to

prgram the keys? Help me...

Default Yeah my dealer covered my battery under warranty & needed both to program remote.

Took up about 10 minutes while I waited.

Default Sometimes you have to go thru the procedure a couple of times...

you may not have gone thru the programming quickly enough, or one of the buttons on the remote didn't engage.

Default New batt put in = re-initialization of the key

I believe it involves putting it in the ignition and turning it to the on position for a few seconds or something liek that.

smile. atleast you have a keyhole by the door. i dont and my remotes wont work after batt change

Default Yup, the keys need to be reprogrammed

There are probably a few other things that need to be reprogrammed, too. Disconnecting the battery resets several "minor" systems.
