Default you cant go wrong with the stock filter and 502.00 oils work well with the 30v.

I currently have the rather lackluster Castrol from belgium in my 30v and will be switching to Agip in a couple of weeks.

I like M1 5W-40. Use it in all my vehicles.

Default He's asking about the difference between 10W30 and 10W40, and you're telling him about 502.00.

He's gonna need a secret decoder ring or a search button to sort that out!

Default I like Castrol GTX HM better.Their 5w-30 is thick 12cSt almost 40 weight, 10w-40 is 16cSt almost 50.

Unless you see below 20 degree starts or so, I'd stick with the 10w-40 HM. The GTX HM 5w-30 is pretty similar to a synth 5w-40 as far as visc goes. Valvoline MaxLife is more normal thickness than Castrol and 20% PAO. Both have stout additive levels.

0w-40
5w-40
10w-40
15w-40

All are good for V6 Audi, choose based on climate and desired OCI. In extreme cold, the 5w-30 GTX HM is do-able. I'm using it in a few cars this winter.

Default No, not in V6.30 weight oil is typically 10cSt, too thin.V6 needs a 40,12cSt to 14cSt for wear &

consumption. Typical 30 weight oil has a High Temp / High Shear (HT/HS) rating of 2.9 and it goes down with use. VW 502/ACEA A3 call for HT/HS of 3.5 minimum.

Quick Reply: alrite so what oil should i turn to/ or keep the same on my HIGH mileage 2.8
