Default Alternative to VAG tool?

Ok everyone, here is an update to my previous post. My check engine light came on. Believe it or not I went to a local Autozone and they linked up with my computer gave me the error code and explained what it was. Then they reset the light for me. I think they said it was an "air valve" I have this written down somewhere.

My point of this post is that he had a device "all in one unit" which plugged into my car, read and reset the error code. I asked him if they sold these devices and he said they did for $150.00

Help me out here! If this device reads the error codes and resets them. Isn't this a better alternative to the VAG tool? What other features does the VAG tool have (like reseting the oil light) is the VAG more spcific to the AUDI?

Default All that tool can do is read codes, and turn off the light...

the VAG COM can do EVERYTHING a 1551/1552 can do, including diagnostic testing, re-setting the oil light etc..

Default Did they charge you for that?

I need to get my CEL reset, but I already know why it got tripped. Good old Denso "do not gap" plugs need a shorter gap so they stop misfiring.
